Job Description

This full-semester contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to teach in a K-3 behavior classroom, focusing on students in kindergarten through third grade. The role is based in an elementary school within Fostoria, OH, and requires dedication to supporting students with special education needs. The daily schedule is 7.5 hours over 182 days, providing a structured environment to make a positive impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction in a behavior-focused classroom tailored for K-3 students
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state requirements
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and support personnel to promote student growth and development
• Manage classroom behaviors using effective intervention strategies
• Track and report student progress systematically

Qualifications:

• Active Intervention Specialist License in Ohio is required
• Proven experience working in behavior classrooms within elementary education settings
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs
• Prior experience teaching 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students, as well as kindergarten
