Job Description

Construction Project Manager – Abatement

Commercial & Industrial | Abatement, Remediation, and Selective Demolition

Regional Expansion Role | East Bay & San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid Office/Remote)

Build. Break. Lead.

Some people see a structure and imagine what it could be.

You see it and know exactly what lurks beneath with legacy environmental issues - how to strip it out and take it out — safely, efficiently, and with precision.

Sequence , the nation’s leading recruitment firm for niche abatement, demolition and remediation personnel, has been exclusively retained to recruit a Project Manager for one of the West Coast’s premier abatement contractors . Known for their precision, commitment to safety, and ability to tackle the most technically complex projects, our client is actively building out operations in the San Francisco Bay Area to meet a growing backlog of work.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact project management role with real authority and long-term potential . You won’t just be another manager — you’ll be a foundational part of expanding regional buildout and growth of the greater organization.

About the Role:

As the Project Manager , you’ll be leading abatement projects across the Bay Area — from surgical interior strip-outs to full taking on abatement efforts on structural dismantling of commercial and industrial properties.

Typical projects include asbestos and lead, but the organization also undertakes selective demolition and some more mainstream remediation. You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering jobs with efficiency, precision, and safety — coordinating resources, schedules, and field personnel, while ensuring every project hits its mark. If you are capable of additionally contributing to estimating efforts, this would be a strong plus to considerion.

You’ll work in a hybrid capacity — based in the Bay Area with a blend of field presence, client interaction, and office coordination. It’s the kind of role where hands-on knowledge is valued just as much as strategic insight.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Leading job site operations, logistics, and team coordination
  • Overseeing equipment deployment, materials, and labor schedules
  • Tracking safety, compliance, and cost control from start to finish
  • Managing client relationships and serving as point-of-contact for key projects
  • Identifying recycling, salvage, and resale opportunities
  • Playing a key role in expanding the company’s regional reputation and market share

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate would have at least 5+ years previous experience managing and estimating projects related to the abatement for commercial, industrial, and/or public works projects. This includes experience performing cost-effective project management, scheduling, project scoping, dismantling salvageable equipment, and identifying/separating materials for recycling or resale.

  • 5+ years of experience in abatement and demolition project management and/or estimating
  • Deep understanding of commercial, industrial, and interior demolition practices
  • Skilled in blueprint reading, sequencing, and technical project scoping
  • Familiar with field logistics, equipment coordination, and safety leadership
  • Strong communicator who can manage both field teams and client expectations
  • Experience with selective or industry demolition helpful
  • Background in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred (but not required for experienced candidates)

Why This Role Stands Out:

This is more than just a job — it’s a career move with a firm that values long-term success and rewards initiative.

Our client has built their reputation by hiring talented professionals and letting them lead. Many of their employees have stayed with the company for over a decade — not because they had to, but because they wanted to.

This is a company that:

  • Doesn’t cut corners
  • Believes in loyalty and trust
  • Invests in its people
  • And delivers excellence in every job, large or small

Benefits / Corporate Culture:

Our client has built a corporate culture that values individuals as resources. The organization has dedicated employees who have been with the organization for many years. They have watched the firm grow. Leadership believes that their unique corporate culture is responsible for this growth and the company has some of the most engaged and highly productive employees. This carries over to benefits, so in addition to competitive base salary and commission/bonus, the organization also has a strong benefits package and incentives.

  • Competitive salary + bonuses and incentives
  • Full benefits package (401k, Health, Dental, Vision, Vehicle, Fuel Card, PTO, etc.)
  • Hybrid flexibility with regional travel
  • Direct access to senior leadership
  • A chance to help shape a growing regional operation
  • A culture where safety, precision, and professionalism lead the way

This is your opportunity to lead meaningful projects, influence regional operations, and grow with a company that’s growing with you .
