ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Airspace System (NAS) Engineering Support Services (ESS) contract. Join our growing team as an electrical engineer/computer engineer/computer scientist in support of the NAS Communications Team, Telcom Sub-team, and Terminal/TRACON Sub-teamat MMAC/ZAN in Oklahoma/Alaska. This position is for Alaskan Satellite Telecommunications Infrastructure (ASTI) program at ZAN in Anchorage.
Responsibilities - Debug and conduct testing on complex systems, including both hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct testing of equipment and services.
- Generate documentation for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment and services.
- Review and provide feedback on program-related documents.
- Provide engineering consultations, investigations and documentation of findings (i.e.-white papers, engineering study reports)
- Develop briefings and presentations.
- Create HDR/PTR/DOC data (Hardware Discrepancy Report/Program Trouble Report/Documentation update)
- Research, design, development, testing, evaluation and maintenance of integrated computer hardware and software systems in a highly secure industrial control system environment.
- Provide support utilizing languages such as LabVIEW, C, C++, Python and shell script.
- Flexibility between hardware and software projects
- Prepare documents, give presentations, or briefings as needed.
- Complete deliverables in a timely manner
- Ability to learn, adapt, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow technical documents and provide redlines.
- Available to travel as needed.
Requirements US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years .
On-site Presence Will Be As Required By The FAA. - Engineering and software development skills.
- Proficiency in programming languages and scripts used in model and tool development (LabVIEW, C, C++, Python)
- Experience with PowerShell, Visual Basic, and/or Batch scripting.
- Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and Electromagnetic Field (EMF) principles.
- Experience with use of source control such as Git.
- Ability to debug and conduct testing on complex systems, including both hardware and software.
- Experience with networking protocols and technologies including TCP, UDP, DHCP, SNMP, and VoIP.
- Experience with lab machinery, lab equipment, and soldering.
- Experience with signal generators, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.
- Solid background knowledge and skills in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering discipline
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Good written and spoken communication skills including developing technical documentation.
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation.
Education/Experience - Bachelor of Science from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
- Experience with PowerShell, Visual Basic, and/or Batch scripting.

- Experience with lab machinery, lab equipment, and soldering.
