Description: Responsible for assessing & evaluating patient requests to exercise their privacy rights initiating, managing and overseeing investigative processes and developing & directing final resolutions to ensure compliance with applicable federal/state regulations. Conducts internal investigations in response to audit findings, complaints, and special requests which are thorough, effective, and accurate to ensure patient privacy rights are granted under Privacy Rule & organizational policies. Plans, coordinates, executes and completes timely proactive audits as per the Privacy Office Audit Plan. Independently performs and analyzes complex audits to create robust proactive audit plan. Completes audit plan on time, within prescribed budget and reports findings and recommendations to Privacy Manager. Based on initial findings, is responsible for identifying trends, business rules and requirements and creating supplemental and new audits as well as educational initiatives. Responsible to coordinate, maintain and update the HIPAA/Privacy educational program. Support the Privacy Manager and Chief Privacy Officer with activities related to the Privacy Office Programs including Patient Rights, Privacy Auditing, Identity Theft Prevention, Educational Programs, and Investigations.Estimated salary range for this position is $62974.07 - $81866.29 / year depending on experience. Qualifications: Degrees: Bachelors. Additional Qualifications: Work experience in the Privacy, Compliance or investigative field preferred. Candidate must possess strong investigative, analytical and interpersonal skills. Must show demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems and develop partnerships with internal departments to find resolutions. Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to multitask, manages multiple high profile projects, and applies independent judgment, discretion while utilizing highly sensitive information, in a demanding environment. Ability to effectively communicate to all members of the organization, including, but not limited to: BHSF employees, leadership, clinicians, physician‘s and non-employed staff members. Must be able to work with minimum supervision, regularly exercise judgment, discretion and independent decision-making. Strong aptitude for learning and understanding Clinical IT applications, and be able to extract and manipulate data into understandable formats for analyzing, reporting and trending purposes.
