Job Description

Position Title : Project Manager – Commercial Construction & Design‑Build

About the Role

You’ll oversee commercial design‑build and adaptive reuse projects from inception through handover. Working closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, you’ll ensure that large-scale and fast‑track developments—spanning corporate interiors, healthcare spaces, hospitality, and more—meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily project operations: contractor coordination, subcontractor scheduling, progress monitoring, and compliance.
  • Act as primary contact with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifetimes.
  • Oversee scope, budget management, and risk mitigation under a single contract model.
  • Maintain rigorous project documentation: schedules, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes.
  • Collaborate with in-house design and real estate development teams to assure integrated delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, LEED/sustainability guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Drive adaptive reuse and infill initiatives with a regenerative placemaking mindset.
  • Foster continuous improvement by contributing to post‑project evaluations and knowledge‑sharing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience managing commercial construction projects, preferably in design‑build.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or relevant field.
  • Licensed General Contractor or equivalent preferred; LEED AP accreditation a plus.
  • Strong understanding of architecture-to-construction workflows and building regulations.
  • Proven ability to handle multi-million-dollar budgets and fast-paced schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client‑management skills.
  • Deep appreciation for regenerative urban development and adaptive reuse principles.
  • Facility with project management tools (e.g. Procore, MS Project, etc.).

Ideal Attributes

  • Self-starter oriented toward innovation and streamlining outdated processes.
  • Ownership mentality with strong accountability and ethical standards.
  • Solution-oriented mindset, comfortable embracing complexity in medical, adaptive‑reuse, or infill projects.
  • Engages collaboratively and creatively with interdisciplinary teams and subcontractors.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Opportunity to lead high-impact urban development projects from concept through completion.
  • Work with a cohesive in‑house architecture, construction, and development team.
  • Regular engagement in regenerative placemaking with respected local partners.
  • Dynamic, growth-oriented environment—a company experiencing rapid expansion across multiple offices.
  • Commitment to employee development through continuing education and sustainable design practices.
