When I’m not dreaming of simple monochrome interiors, the opposite part of my brain is dreaming of exactly this. An incredible space where colours, textures and art collide. I love that wall of prints!
This is just one incarnation of Open House from 2012, created by the clever team at Australian design blog The Design Files. An annual event, the space is a culmination of the best in Australian design, where everything on display from linen to furniture is also for sale.
This November and December the team will be creating two spaces in both Melbourne and Sydney, and I just wish I was home to see them myself. I know they’ll be beautiful spaces, and I’ll want to buy everything. If you’re around, be sure to check them out!

I would love to know where that poster that looks like half a monkey is from? It says Saint-de and then I can’t see more. Please get back to me!
Hi Sophie, it took some tracking down – but I found it! It’s a vintage ‘Saint Denis’ poster from a store in Melbourne called Galerie Montmartre. Saint Denis release a poster each year for their New Years celebrations. You can see this one from 1993 for sale online here: http://thegalerie.com.au/products/saint-denis-1993-quarez
