The first time I ever drove in the states, was in sunny Los Angeles. I adapted to driving on the right hand side while making my way along Sunset Boulevard towards the Getty Center. The drive was a mixture of winding roads and traffic jams, leading to the edge of the Santa Monica mountains where the art museum is perched high above the city.
While the impressive collection includes work from artists such as Van Gogh, Manet, Renoir, Monet and Rembrandt; the architecture, gardens and sweeping views of Los Angeles are just as remarkable. Designed by Richard Meier, the buildings follow his white and geometric aesthetic. I love this cactus garden on the south promontory; with bright green cacti, white travertine walls and smoggy views of the city of angels below.
