Now we both own bicycles again, we’ve been spending our free time getting lost in our new neighborhood. The suburbs of Tokyo are a sprawling mass of winding streets and we love to choose random directions and see what we find. There is so much to absorb on these excursions; from infinite styles of architecture to adorable children riding tricycles.
We’ve discovered we’re surrounded by many hidden shrines and temples, which is no surprise considering it’s estimated that there are some 80,000 in the country. This particular one is not too far from home and enveloped in pretty gardens. These peaceful places of worship provide a lovely refuge from the city.
