Andy Warhol Posters

I noticed these Andy Warhol posters appearing in nearly every monochromatic Scandinavian interior I was drawn to. After a little research I discovered these posters even had an incredible story. They were created for Andy Warhol’s first European solo show in 1968 at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm – one of my favorite galleries. They’re essentially responsible for creating one of Warhols most well-known quotes, “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.”

Ten quotations were used to create the iconic exhibition poster series, designed by John Melin in his characteristic typographic style, which I love. Today these posters can only be purchased in-person at the Moderna Museet stores in both Stockholm and Malmö. As we won’t be back in our beloved Scandinavia anytime soon, I’m very lucky our wonderful friend Sofia is going to help us out!

Update: We ended up getting some of these posters, which you can see in our New York apartment!

Thank you for the information. I’ve just emailed the Museum asking if they still had any and if they shipped to New Zealand – now I know the answer.

Hi Catharine, I only know eight of them!

      All is pretty.
      I like boring things…
I never read. I just look at pictures.
I think everybody should like everybody…
In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes.
Isn’t life a series of images that change as they repeat themselves?
Machines have less problems. I’d like to be a machine, wouldn’t you?
“Do you think pop art is…” “No.” “What?” “No.” “Do you think pop art is…” “No… No I don’t.”
